MetalCrucifix

This necklace is one of my favorites!

To create this design I began by cutting 24 gauge wiring into 16 pieces of equal length. I used needle nose pliers to firmly grip one piece while carefully bending one end into a noose using long nose pliers. I strung a bead sequence of 6mm textured pearl-5mm corrugated metal bead-6mm textured pearls. To close the strand I again used needle nose and long nose pliers to create a tight noose. Once the strand is finished, there should be little to no horizontal movement of the beads. I also alternated the direction of the noose. I created 14 of these strands. For strands 15 and 16 I used the same principle but changed the bead sequence to 6mm textured pearl-8mm textured pearl-6mm textured pearl. These two strands are at the focal of the necklace. These 16 three-bead chains were connected using 4mm round jump rings featuring a metal cross pendant at the center. The 18 1/2 inch strand was finished with a spring & jump circular clasp.
